America’s 350 @ Epic Central – Grand Lawn

On Independence Day, the Grand Prairie Historical Organization set up a welcoming booth featuring our beautiful Goodwin Cabin banner. Larry, James, and Jonathan worked diligently to secure the banner despite shifting winds, while Michael cheerfully assisted the steady stream of visitors eager to pose for photos in front of it. The banner was a clear favorite—guests of all ages stopped to admire it and capture the moment.

Nearby, Chloe and Sabaston made the rounds handing out free goodie bags to the children. Each bag was filled with chips, a small toy, crayons, and a coloring book—simple treats that brought big smiles.

We were also delighted to share the space with Boy Scout Troop 1954. These outstanding young men demonstrated the proper way to retire a worn and tattered American flag, a meaningful tradition they also carry out at the museum for flags dropped off by the community.

As the evening drew to a close, the drone show lit up the sky, providing a festive finale to a wonderful day of community, history, and celebration.
