
Sally “Bebe” Bingham
November 22, 1933-August 2, 2023
Grand Prairie Historical Organization Life Member, Sally “Bebe” was born in Mississippi and received college degrees at Delta State Teachers College and at North Texas State University. She was an American Airlines Stewardess early in her life.
Bebe married Barley Bingham, and moved to Grand Prairie in 1959. Bebe and Barley were married 29 years and had two children Brian (GPHO Life Member) and Brenda Bingham. She was involved in several Grand Prairie civic and community organizations. Bebe loved serving the Grand Prairie community influencing the children who passed through the doors of the schools where she taught. For 19 years, Bebe was involved in the education of Grand Prairie students beginning as a teacher in the classroom and ending as a school principal. She served on the Grand Prairie School Board for 13 years.
Of all the titles she had, she liked being G.B. (Grandmother Bingham) the best. She spent a lot of time at her grandchildren’s activities. Traveling was one of her retirement passions and spent most of her retirement years cruising around the world.
Bebe was preceded in death by her parents, Revelle and Mose Carter; husband, Barley Bingham, and daughter, Brenda B. Ward. She is survived by her son, Brian, his wife Sandi; son in-law, Robert G. Ward, Jr., and several grandchildren.
