Jim Berry
April 5, 1944- August 7, 2023
James “Jim” (Fuzzy) Berry, Jr., and his wife, Angela, recently joined the Grand Prairie Historical Organization together. He was born and educated in Kentucky. While in high school, he excelled in baseball and basketball and later played softball for International Harvester where he played on the company’s national softball travel team.
He continued playing softball until he was 78 years of age. Jim moved to Texas in 1977, and became a teacher and coach in Grand Prairie Independent School District, first at Lee Middle School where he met his wife, Angela. He coached and taught at Kennedy Middle School and retired from teaching at Jackson Middle School in 2007.
A family oriented man, he enjoyed spending quality time with them and his friends and loved ones. Jim and Angela enjoyed attending Texas Rangers games and following the Kentucky Wildcats.
Jim is survived by his wife, Angela, three daughters, Donna “Micki” (Jeff)
Chachere; Amanda (Jeb) Bryant; and Natalie (Jeremy) Jenkins and seven grand children and one great grand daughter; two sisters, Patsy B. (Jim) Thompson and Carol Ann (Bill) Rudd; several nieces and nephews.
